The Annual Spring Festival Kicks-Off

Festivities will fill Qatar throughout the coming weeks with the Spring Festival kick-off at Souq Al Wakrah and Souq Waqif.

The annual Spring Festival has official started at both Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah, offering unlimited fun for both young and adult for the coming weeks. Having started just this weekend, the festivities will continue into February, will a schedule packed of thrillful fun.

The streets of both iconic markets are, and will be, filled with music, parades, acrobatics, street performances, as well as games and art activities.

Reporting from the launches, The Peninsula described an atmosphere filled with joy, as girls clad in traditional outfits, complete with the ‘bukhnuq’, and boys in white thoubs enjoyed the fun festivities along the Souq Al Wakrah walkway.

The Spring Festival will be bringing new shows and entertainment daily at Al Wakrah until February, with a special fireworks display, held for the first time ever, on Friday at 8 pm. So if you’re yet to make plans for the weekend, head down south and enjoy the colorful night sky.

Meanwhile, festivities at Souq Waqif will also run daily, from 3:30 pm to 10:30 pm, up until February 3.

Even though both festivals are offering similar shows and activities, they will each be very different, so it is a good idea to visit both. And since they are being help over the course of two weeks, you have plenty of time to plan your visit ahead to get the most out of your day.
