Qatar will welcome two cruise ships at the same time, for the first time ever, today at Doha Port.
In a historic first time event, Qatar will be welcoming two cruise ships at the same time at Doha Port. This is first time that the country is visited by two ships simultaneously.
The MSC Fantasia and Crystal Esprit are sailing in with more than 3,000 tourists on board, and are expected to be heading to Qatari markets and sights as soon as they dock.
Even though no official schedules have been released by authorities, it has been reported that MSC Fantasia will be in Doha from 8 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon, before sailing off to Bahrain. Crystal Esprit’s stay is however unclear.
The Qatar Tourism Authority have said that they will take advantage of the special occasion to test and show how well-prepared the country and its infrastructure are with handling large groups of people visiting at once.
The MSC Fantasia is in fact the largest passenger cruise ship to ever dock in Qatar, and made its maiden voyage here only earlier this month.
If you are hanging out by the Corniche, Souq Waqif or the Museum of Islamic Art today, expect to see flocks of tourists enjoying what beauty and experience the country has to offer.
MSC Fantasia will be returning to Qatar four more times before the end of this season.
Crystal Esprit on the other hand, is a 100 meter long, 62-passenger luxury yacht, that also made its maiden voyage to Qatar only earlier this month.
