2017 Ooredoo Marathon

You gotta hurry up if you want to run the 2017 Ooredoo Marathon, you only have six days left to sign up.

The 2017 Ooredoo Marathon is just 17 days away but you have less than a week to register if you’re planning to participate.

The big race will take place on Friday, January 13th (they are breaking all superstition here), and proceeds will be going to a good cause. The company has announced that one hundred percent of all collected registration fees will go the charity organization Reach Out To Asia.

The annual event, now in its fifth run, was designed to encourage the Qatari population to become more involved in both sport and charity work. Runners can choose from 5 individual races to participate in, the 42.195 kilometer full marathon, or a 21.095 kilometer half-marathon, and the less intense 10 kilometer and 5 kilometer runs, as well as a 3 kilometer and a 1 kilometer run for the younger ones and those who just want to have fun.

The races will start, and end, at the Museum of Islamic Arts Park, and will follow through a special course along the Doha Corniche.

The course difficulty is classified as easy, and refreshment and support stations will be installed every two and a half kilometers throughout the course.

If you have already registered or are planning to run, you should be aware that you’d have to be at the start-line before 6:30 because that’s when the race starts. You can park your vehicle at the parking of the Museum of Islamic Art, or the Souq Waqif underground parking facilities.

The most important thing you have to remember is that you don’t have to be a professional athlete to run. The 2017 Ooredoo Marathon is designed for everyone and has a race for anyone.

Hurry up and register on their website marathon.ooredoo.qa. Registration fees vary depending on your preferred course and your age.
