Don’t Miss The Chinese Festival At MIA

Chinese Festival in Qatar

The Chinese Festival in Qatar is definitely the place to be this weekend.

Doha should be named the city that never sleeps, because there’s always something fun and interesting happening. After a 12 months of cultural exchange between Qatar and China under the “Qatar – China Year of Culture project (and before the start of Qatar – Germany Year of Culture), the year concludes with a massive Chinese Festival full with food, dance and all kinds of fun.

Over the weekend, the Chinese Festival will give attendees four days of continous fun the Chinese way. It will include performances with dragons, music and dance, as well as food stalls with the most delicious and famous dishes from Chinese cuisine, and fun games and activities for young and old alike. A must is a visit to the tea house – tea being a popular drink in both China and the Arab World. And children would enjoy the puppet shows kicked off at the MIA Park last night.

The even is a collaborative effort between Qatar Museums, the Ministry of Culture of China and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, and will run daily until Saturday, November 5.

Organizers have made a statement informing potential attendees that there will be no parking at the Museum of Islamic Art this weekend, suggesting that a comfortable option would be to park in the underground car park in Souq Waqif, or the Free Park & Ride service at the Old Doha Airport.

The Festival will be open on Friday from 2 until 10 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am until 10 pm.
