Hamad Medical Corp. have announced vacancies at Hamad bin Khalifa Medical City

Hamad Medical Corp. has announced thousands of job openings for medical professionals in Qatar.

Hamad Medical Corp. just declared their largest recruitment drive ever. They are currently calling is almost 2,700 professionals to fill vacancies in the coming months.

HMC released a statement earlier this week, saying that they are working on filling 2,690 vacancies of both clinical and non-clinical staff by the end of 2016. The doctors, nurses, paramedics and staff will most likely work at the new hospitals and healthcare centers that are currently being developed at the Hamad bin Khalifa Medical City. They are expected to open by next year.

The labor ministry will be helping out Hamad Medical Corp. with the recruitment efforts, processing applications for both Qataris and expats. However, administrative jobs are strictly available for Qatari nationals, and will be filled with the help of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs.

Just earlier this year HMC laid off more than 1,000 from their staff, including nurses and pharmacists.

Medical professionals can also apply and try their luck with a career at Sidra Medical and Research Center, who are also looking to hire thousands of people in the coming years.

Earlier this month, they announced the need to fill 4,000 job posts, also both clinical and non-clinical, ahead of the opening of their main hospital. Sidra had also laid off about 200 people from their staff earlier this year.

In 2018 we will most likely see a spike in recruitment of medical professionals to Qatar, since Hamad bin Khalifa Medical City is planned to open seven new hospitals by the end of 2017.

The QR 2.4 billion complex is scheduled to receive a women’s wellness and research center, an ambulatory care center and the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute.
