Qatar Museum Announces Germany As 2017 Culture Partner

After China, Germany will lead a year of cultural exchange with Qatar- Qatar Museum.

As the year of China-Qatar cultural exchange is nearing its end, Qatar Museum announced that Germany will be Qatar’s next Year of Culture partner in 2017.

Throughout 2016, China and Qatar exchanged 12 months of culture, history and art, but 2017 will be a year for Germany.

Qatar Museum has said that it will work closely with the German embassy and Goethe Institute in Doha, to bring the country over a dozen of collaborative cultural events. Mohammed Al Othman, Qatar Museum’s director of public and international relations to local news that the events will include, but are not limited to, friendly football matches, and art and photography exhibitions.

This year’s Qatar cultural partner was China, who followed culture-rich countries like Japan, the UK, Brazil and Turkey.

With a lot to look forward to for Germany’s year, lets recap on China’s year as Qatar’s cultural partner.

Qatar Museum also announced that they are going to wrap up the year with a Chinese festival, next month at MIA Park. In a four-day event between November 2 and 5, attendees will be entertained with music and cultural performances from the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang.

The festival will also feature a Chinese market, tea, photography exhibitions, cuisine and a special area for children.

The year will be better reflected upon at the photography exhibition set up in Katara Cultural Village, also next month. It will showcase the work of four Chinese and two Qatari photographers who traveled to between the countries and documented the cultures from their lenses’ points of view.

Meanwhile, the Treasures of China exhibition with the famous Terracotta Army statues that opened last month at the MIA will continue until January.
