All Marvel Series On Netflix So Far

Marvel series on Netflix - Wired

Look no further, for we have compiled the complete list of Marvel series on Netflix. Some you can watch right away, others are in the making.

It is no secret that Marvel is one of the world’s leading comic book publishers, and have been captivating readers since 1939 with the non-stop action-adventure of the Marvel Universe. However, today they are most known for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a universe shared by their hundreds of superheroes, supervillains and super teams, and brought you movies like Iron Man, Captain America and the Avengers. But you don’t have to buy a dvd or head down to your local movie theaters every time you want a thrill-filled cinematic experience. Take a look at these Marvel series on Netflix.

Daredevil (2015–)

The first Marvel series on Netflix brought you the Daredevil, you might know the character from the 2003 movie starring Ben Affleck. In the series, Charlie Cox stars as Matt Murdock, blind lawyer by day, but uses his heightened senses to fight crime at night on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen in red jumpsuit as Daredevil.

The show is currently developing their 3rd season of the Daredevil, where he will continue to keep his city safe, while crossing paths with characters like the Punisher and his ex-girlfriend Elektra.

Jessica Jones (2015–)

This is probably the least known superhero in the Marvel Universe, well, maybe it’s because she isn’t a superhero anymore. Ex-superhero Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is a private detective with a severe case of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Her life up until now is actually one of Marvel’s darkest and most explicit stories, which you will learn more about, as well as how her past is still torturing her. You will also be introduced to the main character of the next show on the list, Luke Cage.

Luke Cage (2016–)

Luke is the product of an experiment gone wrong, which leaves him with unbreakable skin and superhuman strength. Living in the same city as the Daredevil and somewhat-girlfriend Jessica Jones, Cage fights to keep his city clean from crooks, while struggling with his past that has returned to haunt him.

The show will start airing on September 30 on Netflix, with Mike Colter continuing his role as Luke from the Jessica Jones series.

Iron Fist (2017)

This is latest Marvel series on Netflix, which is currently under production and will air starting next year in Ultra HD 4K.

Filming began in April 2016, telling the story of Danny Rand, who is returning to the Marvel Universe version of New York City (yes, same city as Luke, Jessica and Daredevil live in) after being missing for years. He’s back to fight corruption with his awesome kung-fu skills, and the ability to summon the powers of the Iron Fist. Danny Rand / Iron Fist is played by Finn Jones.

The Defenders (2017)

Well, you didn’t think that all them superheroes living in the same city (still the Marvel Universe version of New York City) weren’t gonna team up, were you?

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist team-up to kick ass in this upcoming Marvel series on Netflix, and will pick up where Iron Fist left off, as a continuation to the stories of all four previous shows. It is scheduled to premier in 2017.

The Punisher (2018)

Jon Bernthal will return as Frank Castle, who also goes by the name of the Punisher, from the Daredevil series. This will be the only Marvel series on Netflix that is not leading up to The Defenders, and will air after it.

So far, little is known about the plot of the show, but much is known about the Punisher himself. Too much for anyone not to already know.
