Saudi Arabia’s High Judiciary Council has announced the spotting of the new moon, stating that the largest Islamic holiday, Adha, will be on September 12. You know what that means, don’t you? Everyone is preparing for Eid in Qatar.
The Eid Al Adha is the Islamic celebration honoring the willingness and submission of Abraham to God’s command. It occurs on the first day of the Islamic month Dhu al-Hijjah, and the last day of the Hajj pilgrimage. During Eid, Muslims around the world usually start they day with Eid prayers, followed by the sacrifice of a sheep or a goat, and donating the meat to needy families.
As usual, the Qatar Tourism Authority has teamed up with several venues around the country, to bring you the best Eid experience possible. Under the theme “Capture Joy,” they planned events throughout the whole week, at places like Hyatt Plaza, City Center, Ezdan, Lagoona, Al Khor and Dar Al Salam malls, among many others.
