10 Qatari Medals At The 12th GCC Gymnastics Championship

Young athletes representing Qatar secured 10 medals at the 12th GCC Gymnastics Championship this past week.

Qatari athletes were able to win three gold, three silver and four bronze medals on the second day of the 12th GCC Gymnastics Championship, under-14 age-group. The competition started last Wednesday, at the Al Khawla bint Al Azwar Indoor Hall in Doha.

One particular athlete, Qatar’s Tamim Al Kreib, won the all-around, pommel horse, floor events and received silver at the vault, parallel bars and high bars events, making him one of the most outstanding and promising athletes of the event.

Other Qatari youth participating in the games are Rakan Mesfer Al Harith, Ahmad Nabil Mousa, Abdullah Mesfer, Raslan Anis, Hossam Abdulaziz, Mahmoud Al Saadi, Ahmad Al Dayani, Malik Al Yahri and Nasser Al Hamad.

However, Qatar finished third and last overall with 227.514 points. Saudi Arabia came in first with 445.637 points and Bahrain second, with 286.046 points.

Saudi Arabia and Bahrain were the only two countries participating in the events, alongside host Qatar. The 12th GCC Gymnastics Championship started on Wednesday, August 31, and will conclude on Saturday, September 3.
