Art Workshops For Children At MIA This August

Bring out your child’s inner artist with the art workshops at the Museum of Islamic Art this summer.

Some children explore their innate talents early on in life, and other don’t find them until they put them to the test. With the amazingly fun art workshops at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, children have a chance to continually explore and expand their artistic talents.

Ever since the museum opened its doors in 2008, it has been a center point for arts, learning and development in Qatar.

During the summer of 2016, the MIA hosted several workshops, for children and adults alike, and they are not done yet. This August, the MIA is hosting several art workshops for children.

Children between the ages of 8 and 14 can register to learn about Ruq’ah script, during a four session calligraphy workshop. This workshop is ideal for beginners and will be given from August 14 until August 18. Teens between 15 and 18 can enjoy the same workshop August 21 – 25.

Another four session arts workshop given to children during same days in, is an introductory class to stylized drawing and Iznik art. The workshop, for 5-7 year-olds, will be given together with lectures in the history of falconry. A version of this workshop will be given to children 8-11 on August 21-25.
