Meet Qatar away from home with Bayt Qatar at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

Just ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in a few days, the Qatar Olympic Committee announced the opening of Bayt Qatar Brazil.

Taking up the space of former museum, Casa Daros, the house is intended to bring the soul of Qatar to Rio. It will host a Garango night for children, full with fun and games, as well as an outdoors souq and film screenings.

A similar initiative was set up during the London 2012 Summer Olympics, where Bayt Qatar opened just to side of the River Thames, and welcomed visitors throughout the games.

Such initiatives are meant to bring Qatar and the Arab world closer to foreign cultures, as it introduces the world to the unique traditions and history of Qatar.

Bayt Qatar in Rio De Janeiro will remain open from August 4 until August 21, more information can be found on their website.
