Team Qatar Is Ready For The Rio Olympics

Team Qatar is ready for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio this August.

The 2016 summer Olympics, scheduled to be held in Brazil’s Rio De Janeiro, are just around the corner and Qatar has its lineup ready.

Making a comeback since 2004, Qatar will be represented by Faris Ibrahim in the male weightlifting category.

Jefferson Pereira and Cherif Younousse will be competing for Team Qatar at the men’s beach volleyball category. The team qualified after winning the AVC Continental Cup in Australia over China.

Chinese import Li Ping, will bring the heat for Team Qatar. He secured the Olympic spot at the men’s singles at the Asian Qualification Tournament in Hong Kong, as the highest-ranked table tennis player coming from the West Asia zone.

Nasser Al-Attiyah & Rashid Saleh Hamad have secured competing spots in shooting after they obtained the MQS at the 2015 ISSF World Cup series and Asian Championships.

Morad Zemouri qualified as the only Qatari judoka for the men’s lightweight judo category (73 kg).

Hakan Erşeker is Qatar’s one boxer, and will compete in the men’s lightweight division into the Olympic boxing tournament. It will be a first for Team Qatar.

Swimmers Nada Arakji and Noah Al-Khulaifi will be representing Qatar. Arakji was one of the first athletes to compete on Team Qatar at the Olympics.

Team Qatar is also competing in men’s handball, as well as the Olympic equestrian competition with a team of four jumpers.
