Qatar is currently the world record holder for the largest flag, longest SUV convoy, largest football, and list just keeps growing as the state will be attempting to break the world largest key record.
The attempt will take place on Sunday, May 15, at Ard Canaan restaurant in Katara Cultural Village.
An organizing spokesperson told Doha media that the key symbolizes the right of Arab refugees to return home, referring to the millions of people displaced by recent and prior conflicts around the Arab world.
The event will start at 7 pm, where the attempt will be to break the previous record held by Evagoras Georgiou in Cyprus. Georgiou received recognition after displaying his 5.5m long, 2.6m wide, key in Limassol in 2006.
The night will witness a musical performance by Arab Idol winner, the young Palestinian Mohammed Assaf, who currently serves as regional youth ambassador for the UN Relief and Works Agency. There will also be traditional music and dance performances by a Palestinian dal’ouna folk dance band.
