Playlist For The Workplace

The office can be a very stressful place. It can get really hard finishing your tasks with all the potential distractions from socializing with colleagues to getting lost surfing the web, and not to forget your mood from the day before. Productivity and mood go hand-in-hand like peanut butter and jelly. If your mood is down, so is your productivity, and what better way to lift your mood than a good playlist.

The music you choose to listen to at work is important because it will affect your job performance more than you’d guess. Psychological studies have proven that a person’s mood can be altered by the music that person is listening to. The trick is to find music that you like.

The choice in tempo will reflect on your body’s will to work. Songs that make you want to get up and dance usually gives you that kick of energy you need to go the extra mile. When it comes to lyrics, happy lyrics will brighten up your mood, and sad lyrics will depress you, especially if you’re already down. Playing aggressive music is not a bad idea either, just keep in mind why you are playing that music in the first place and focus your aggression on finishing work.

The trick is to find a mix of both, lyrics and beat. Don’t be afraid to get the blood pumping through your system and get a little over excited, but remember to focus that energy rush on work.
