Its Power Lies in Its Peel – The Kiwifruit

The kiwifruit or Chinese gooseberry is probably the most underrated fruit we know nothing about.

The kiwi is actually indigenous to China and was known as the Chinese gooseberry until New Zealand decided to cultivate it for commercial use and renamed it the kiwifruit, after their national bird.

Generally used in fruit salads and pastries, the kiwi is actually one of the richest fruits in vitamin C, which helps keep your skin clear and radiant. Kiwi can be eaten or mixed with either yogurt and honey, or avocado to create a facial paste. If you leave it on for 15 minutes, it can work wonders.

But the true power of kiwi lies in its skin. The kiwi skin or peel has twice as much vitamin C and fibers than the fruit flesh itself. Scientists claim that the kiwi peel contains twice the daily recommended dosage of vitamin C, which if used correctly can be used as an anti-aging solution, and it also has three times the fibers found in its flesh.

That is why you should never throw away the peel. If you choose not to eat it, use the inner side of the peel and rub it over your skin gently. It will rejuvenate your skin cells and exfoliate dead cells, leaving your skin flawless and glowing.

And even though it doesn’t sound very tempting, the skin is edible and very nutritious. First of all, eating it with the peel on is easier, it saves you time and keeps the flesh together so you won’t have a mess.

The kiwi has many more hidden benefits, so no matter how you choose to use it, definitely include it in your daily routines.
