A Falcon Pavilion For Dubai Expo 2020

We are all anticipating the Expo 2020 especially that it is happening really close to us that year. We are super excited that this event is to take place in Dubai. A lot of architecture and logistics are in the works for the Dubai Expo 2020.

Many venues will be built, and so many things are taking place, however one notable venue really caught our eye. Eleven proposals were submitted by giants in the world of architecture; however the winning project was Santiago Calatrava’s falcon monument.

As you all may know by now the theme for the Expo 2020 is Connecting Minds, Creating The Future. Calatrava’s pavilion will be located facing Al Wasl, and it will be at the center of the exhibition space which ranges 15,000 square meters.

‘I am deeply honored that our practice has been chosen to design the national pavilion for dubai expo 2020, a project of national and global significance.  I am confident that the final design will be a symbol of the bold and daring spirit of the UAE, reflected in what is poised to be the most inclusive and global expo in history.’ Santiago Ccalatrava

The monument truly looks like a falcon, an endearing symbol of the UAE, its past, and present. The building will also embrace sustainable building principles.

We really look forward to covering the stages of development for this brilliant event, so stay tuned!santiago-calatrava-expo-2020-pavilion-dubai-
