Elon Musk’s company SpaceX has recently come a long way with their rockets, and uncommon technology. The billionaire funded SpaceX is about to embark on one of the greatest missions known to man.
SpaceX, and as revealed by Elon Musk on his twitter account will be launching a state of the art rocket to space, but this time the destination is not the moon, it is planet Mars. The spaceship is called Dragon.
Dragon will be sent to Mars as early as the year 2018. Currently, what Dragon does is fly cargo into the company’s International Space Station; however they are in the brinks of developing another spacecraft which will carry astronauts into space.
Dragon will be loaded with sensors, to gather data regarding the performance and the details of this long journey. Elon Musk stated in 2002 that he wishes to send a greenhouse garden to Mars, we sure hope to see that in the near future.
