On Planning A Perfect Day In Doha

Planning a busy first day in a city may be the best way to get know it better and to experience a bit of everything, and Doha has many beautiful places and interesting attractions to plan a busy day.

You may want to start with your breakfast, the most important meal of the day, so you are full of energy for the day ahead.  For an all Arabic breakfast experience, head to ‘Sabah W Masa’ at Salwa Road near Ramada roundabout. From Wednesday to Friday, the restaurant is open for 24 hours while from Saturday to Tuesday, it opens from 7am until 1am. This is the perfect place to have a morning feast the Lebanese way.

After your breakfast, visit the Museum of Islamic Art. The building itself is an architectural landmark located on the corniche with an amazing view of the Arabian Sea. After the visit, walk through the MIA park, one of the most renowned parks in the capital. There, stroll through the estate’s bazaar and relax on the shady terrace of the park’s café.

For a more traditional bazaar, make sure to visit Souq Waqif with its bustling street life and old-fashioned shops. It’s a must stop destination in Doha. We already talked before about some interesting activities you can partake in there. If you stay there for your lunchtime, you will get the chance to taste traditional Qatari food served from the food stalls like the Machboos, Margooga and Mathrooba.

After that, it’s time for some shopping and the capital has some of the biggest malls in the region making Doha a true shopping delight. One mall you must visit is Villagio for a singular shopping experience. Set in Venetian style, you will be to enjoy a ride in a genuine Venetian Gondola in the 150-meter long indoor canal.

After this long and exciting day in Doha, maybe it’s time to treat yourself to a relaxing evening and fancy dinner.  Around The Pearl, you will find many restaurants and a wide selection of cuisine from Italian and Lebanese, to South African, Thai, Mexican and South American.
