The Shaza hotel chain is looking to expand its presence in the region and what better way to do that than to open its first hotel in the heart of Doha in the spring of this year.
With its high architectural design, the new Shaza Hotel in Doha is bound to become the new landmark in the Qatari capital’s skyline. The New York-based SOMA Architects came up with the building concept to reflect the Qatari heritage in a contemporary style with its outer glass façade and Arabesque patterns that will be silkscreened onto the glass structure.
Overall, the hotel will have 180 rooms and suites spread across 15 floors, two specialty restaurants, a ballroom, cigar lounge and spa, in addition to a business club with several meeting rooms. Shaza Hotel Doha will also feature a celebrity chef-run restaurant and an outdoor pool terrace on the roof.
The property is conveniently located for tourists at only 10 minutes’ drive from Doha International Airport while at the same time being situated in the traditional commercial district of Doha, which is a great location for visitors travelling to conduct their businesses.
This district is undergoing an amazing transformation, both in the areas of infrastructural and commercial developments, as Qatar aims to revive the historical downtown of Doha.
Moreover, the hotel will be within a walking distance from major tourist attractions like the distinguished Museum of Islamic Art, the exciting Souq Waqif and the Qatar National Museum designed by the internationally renowned architect Jean Nouvel, celebrated for his architectural masterpieces like the Torre Agbar in Barcelona.
And with the Doha being home of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the opening of the new hotel will coincide with a keystone in Qatar’s history and will be a great addition to the list of hotels that will available in the capital during this major event.
