A few days ago, we had the chance to try a really cool locale in Doha. Some friends were in town, and we wanted to give them a taste of the orient, and specifically of Morocco. So we headed over to Souk Waqif, to a locale which a friend had recommended previously. We spent our evening enjoying delicious Moroccan specialties, while enjoying some gorgeous oriental aromatic beverages, as well as their infamous shisha.
This restaurant was named, based on Morocco’s most famous tree, the Argan tree. Argan is located in Al Jasra Boutique hotel, part of Souk Waqif. The place radiated with oriental flair, it is decorated with warm hues of purple, blue, and gold. With lanterns, and star shaped ornaments, upon entering the restaurant you feel that it emits an exceptionally oriental vibe. The ambiance is complimented by some beautiful fusion lounge music.
The tables at Argan are surrounded by a Majlis like seating area, with lush couches, and a comfortable ambiance. Their menu includes some amazing authentic Moroccan dishes, designed and executed by their Moroccan chefs, which include some gorgeous oriental salads, tajine, couscous, main courses, deserts, and some amazing drinks.
Their food came in good portions, and it was full of depth, and flavor. The colors in Moroccan dishes make it the most Instagram worthy food, Moroccan dishes are absolutely picturesque. Argan is one of our favorite Moroccan eateries around, this was our first time visiting, and we will definitely try it out again soon.
