About Versace’s Most Recent Collection At Paris Fashion Week

A lot has happened at Paris Haute Couture Fashion week where more than twenty fashion houses showed off their latest 2016 Spring/Summer collections. Today, we look back at Versace’s luxury collection inspired by sporty chic.

The Atelier Versace collection is a perfect combination of modern chic and sleek sporty designs, thus it was dubbed aptly “Athletic Couture”.

Innovative and modern, designer Donatella Versace’s collection kicked off Paris Fashion Week with an energetic vibe in a palette of white. The first designs featured white bomber jackets, white suit combinations made of trousers or skirts, as well as white figure-hugging dresses, which were decorated with fluorescent yellow or orange straps. Then the designer introduced additional colors like electric blue, orange, yellow and black. But the white still dominated the overall collection.

Most gowns had intricate cutouts, slashed at the thigh or cut along than tied together with ropes of Swarovski crystals while the tuxedos had baring arms and sides. Versace described the designs “as if exploded, then held together with extravagant knots of Swarovski ropes”.

The designs are perfect for the modern day woman and Donatella Versace clearly acknowledged in a statement that “this is a collection for all women who walk their own path.”

Finally, we must say that one of the blue dresses from Versace’s collection must have brought luck to Alison Brie who won “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role” at the SAG awards for her film ‘Room’. And we hope to see in the future some other gowns from the collection being worn by such talented celebrities and powerful women.
