The Steinway Piano Gallery has rooted its grounds onto the production of some amazing cord instruments, and specifically pianos. Henry Steinway was born in 1797, in Northern Germany, he built his first string instrument by the time he was 20 years old. Five years later he established his own repair shop in Seesen.
Steinway produced his first grand piano, in his own kitchen, and it became known as the kitchen piano. He pioneered at the construction of large scale pianos, and specifically of Soundboard Bridge made out of a single piece of wood.
The technique used in building a Steinway Piano are intricate, delicate, and they are in need of some serious craftsmanship, for instance, wood is left to dry and age for two years, and then another year to actually manufacture a Steinway.
